Do you appreciate natures impermanence?

Do you appreciate nature's impermanence?

Dawn McClung

I aimed to reveal that a camera could not come close to the experience of a moment in nature. I captured images from a rippling water canal in Venice, reflecting beautiful colours from the buildings surrounded. I found myself standing for long amounts of time getting lost in the patters of the water. I realised that looking at these images in their digital form was not anywhere near the beauty of the real experience. This 2D piece depicts these images in a completely pixelated and abstract way, leaving viewers to ponder and possibly feel frustrated with uncertainty of what this piece may be displaying. My message is to influence viewers to go out and experience nature without technology in the mid-ground - It takes away ones unique individual encounter with nature.
