Focusing on the promise of infamy, Addi works to complete a research paper for a symposium. However, with the deadline looming, he becomes increasingly trapped in his own mind. Addi develops an obsession and from that, suffers episodes of psychosis.
‘Addiction’ is a play about the idea of addiction, with the form of the piece written in a style which explores the concept and symptoms of addiction.
The values I sought to explore were ambition (and the possible issues too much ambition creates) and self-indulgence to an existentially extreme form.
