Art and medicine, are they really that separate?

Ryan Watson, 23

The work represents a celebration of medicinal advancement in orthopaedic and radiographic practice. The piece depicts the titanium fixtures used in the mending process. The piece also brings attention to the traditional Japanese method of repair known as ‘kintsugi’, or golden joinery. The work serves as a visual connection between the two practices of art and medicine.
