Tunnel is a further development and extension from the idea relating to my previously submitted piece, Detached - which explored the boundary between how we define and relate to what is natural and what is un-natural. Mapping at a microscopic level, Tunnel explores the notions of worlds - to question our social constructs. These worlds have been traced through the lens of others - Spragham mosses, lichens and drift woods, collected from the Scottish Highlands. This piece explores how we ascribe and embody meaning of other organisms’ living world in order to assimilate. Additionally, to question how our social constructs influences our thoughts and ideas.
