Inspired by Guy Debord's theory of the Spectacle, Desensitized Society is the exploration of pushing the boundaries of what is accepted as the social norm in reality. This is a performance piece which is set in the city of Glasgow where the environment itself, the mass public within the environment and myself as the artist became the artwork. I walked around the streets in a t-shirt which presents a visual print of my breasts to explore whether society will react to a printed explicit image on show within their everyday life instead of on mass media platforms. None reacted to this t-shirt. Is society at a stage where it is that desensitized to sexually explicit printed imagery?
