Izzy Collins

No matter what happens in our world, be it climate change, violence or any kind of social issue it never ever seems to be our fault. It's too easy to point the finger at someone else and we are all guilty of doing it. It means we don't have to look at ourselves and wonder if anything about our behaviour is to blame. Granted, it's hard to see the bigger picture when we naturally feel so small as individuals and our efforts often feel thwarted by something as large and unreachable as corporations, countries, and groups that might be on the other side of the world. But change always starts with us, the individuals. We can’t expect anything in the world to change on a large scale if we are unwilling to change ourselves, even if it's just in the smallest of ways. It's time we did a lot, lot more than pointing the finger at someone else. We are all on the same ball of dirt hurtling through space and we all need to take responsibility, even if it's just remembering to put your bottle in the recycling.
