Hello

Greig McLean

This piece represents the struggle an artist faces on 'finding a style'. It shows the stress and unease of the paranoia behind this aspect of being an artist in the tense expression on the face. The way the colour moves up from agitated red on the neck, to cold sweat blue on the face, to finally clear yellow in the mind; symbolising the artist has let go of the knowledge stopping them from making art that come from the soul. Hence the text saying: "Hello", as after periods of time the artist has stopped mimicking other art and made their own. And has welcomed this change.
