Disfigurement of Landscape

Disfigurement of Landscape

Isabella Paterson

In a world filled with societal boundaries can we, the human race, cope with physical boundaries? Are we threatened by them or do we relish in them, as they provide a sense of security, both territorial and identity based?
This collection of SLR images explores the disfigurement of landscape and how humans and the environment respond to the dam that cuts across the terrain, creating a dystopian landscape.
I found that, like nature, we as humans are at first baffled, confused at something so alien, such as a wall, but yet we learn to adapt and eventually the object in question becomes part of the norm and we forget that it was once like before it arrived; it now has become a piece of our identity.
