Daydream

Jasmine Brown

Whilst art can be interpreted in a way by its audience, the value I personally had in mind when writing this was mental health.

In our society mental health is often overlooked as being irrelevant in comparison to physical health. Specifically, teenage mental health is belittled; categorised under the title 'teenage angst' - as if disorders have age restrictions and wait until you can drink alcohol or pay bills.

My aim with this poem was to allow insight into 'invisible' disorders and encourage readers of the poem to have a deeper understanding for the mentally ill.
