Daniel Labrosse

These are three of my most recent artworks, The Future of Art, Nico's Hotel and Party in the Five Boroughs. The three illustrations I'm submitting showcase my style fairly well. I mostly tend to draw highly saturated, richly detailed bustling cityscapes with people going about their daily lives.

I'm very inspired by big cities and their inhabitants, I'm fascinated with the concept of people living in one area, yet barely knowing anything about each other. I often find myself thinking about how everyone has their own history, their own stories to tell and their own unique experiences. I try to highlight the uniqueness of individuals in my art quite often. I feel like if people thought about that more and tried imagining what the lives of others might be like, they would be a lot happier.

All three of Daniels artworks were presented at the Creative Exchange in Leith at his second solo exhibition, Ghosts at the Junkyard, from the 17th of October to the 11th of November, 2016. The Future of Art was selected to be featured at the Future Late exhibit at Tate Modern in June, 2016.
