Over 100 years ago, key reasons for poverty in Britain were established: illness and unemployment. However, factors such as family conflicts and addictions are increasingly common. Scotland alone has 35,000 homeless applications, many going to unsafe places for shelter. These photographs are aimed to highlight homelessness. ‘Home Sweet Home’: This shows what we take for granted. All homeless people want is a home. ‘Sleep Tight’: Homeless people may only have newspaper to sleep on. We have a bed to sleep in but they don't even have a pillow. ‘Ignorance’: We blank homelessness. We assume it's their fault. Which is not always true. To bring change, we have to change our perception. ‘Dream On’: Homeless people want their basic needs. We are so focused on meaningless goals like 10,000 followers that we discard the wellbeing of others. The hole in the wall represents fractured dreams of the homeless. ‘Must Be Funny In A Rich Man’s World’: This serves two meanings. How homeless people have little, and how society views them as worthless.  People are reluctant to give money to people on the streets, but donating food or to charity can also help. We should not ignore homelessness, everyone should have a roof over their head.
