Claire Davis

A vivid and colourful description of the Paris attacks in November 2015. The poem reflects on the traumatic experiences during and after the event which focuses on the values of national security, inner harmony and equality within humanity. The poem paints a picture of the emotions that the city of Paris is faced as the devastating carnage rips it apart. The distress and anguish are heightened by the use of colours to emphasise the depth of grief and the disruption of peace among those involved. The use of powerful imagery and word choice provokes the senses and realism of this attack within the reader.
