Domination

Domination

Caragh Rough

The link between my drawing and the subject of power is to capture the distinct power and dominance of the stag this directly links to people and society as a whole. The stag maintains a position of power within a heard but also as an individual beast. History has shown this to be the case within human society’s also where a leader takes control offers guidance and leadership to those within that group. This can happen through natural elevation through power, knowledge, fear and social standing. There could be a direct link between the structures of an animal group to a human group where there is a usually a leader who takes up the position either through natural progression or encouragement through the heard/people. It helps for a leader to have a look of power as it can help to intimidate opposition this is why I choose to draw the stag because when you lock eyes with a stag there is no telling what it will do this creates a feeling of fear and unpredictability I’ve tried to capture this within the colours and the features of the drawing and has ability to capture the viewer.
