Tron Style Helmet

Angus Oliver

It was inspired by the art-style in the popular movie Tron, and the shapes of interesting sea creatures. It relates to the values of creativity, from its originality and the process behind its creation; unity with nature, from it's shape which was inspired by a squid; spirituality from it's dream-like appearance and influence, from the colour and lights which were influenced by the film. The piece was made from wire, wire mesh, modroc, plaster, foam, plastic and spray painted matte black. The lights can be programmed to change colour or switch/fade between colours to give the effect shown in the video. The tentacles down the back flow with the wearer's movements, making this a great costume piece for a dancer. the high contrast in colours would make it a good piece for the main dancer in the middle of the stage. This design was for my higher project and looks to be scoring highly, lots of time and effort was put into it in and out of school.
