Spirituality is a value which is slowly dying out. Nowadays many religious people are ridiculed for their 'old-fashioned' beliefs. Often religion takes the blame for events happening in the world. This is because throughout time people have taken advantage of religion and used it as a means to monetary gain. The obedience of people and their trust in their religious leaders caused them to go to wars and to kill fellow beings in the name of their God. However, often in the case of major disasters or attacks, it is spirituality that many turn to, praying for the victims and families. This piece helped me to think outside my own parameters as I followed the transition of people from blindly obeying the instruction of the church to leaving it empty. I realised that had religions not been exploited my people for their own gain, spirituality would be a far purer and less ridiculed value.
